Jard Lerebours is a Jamaican-American and Haitian-American filmmaker and writer based in New York.
Early Years and Education
Jard was born in Stony Brook on April 14th 1997, to a Haitian father and a Jamaican mother. He grew up on Long Island between Central Islip and Bay Shore.
Jard studied English and Creative Writing at Emory University where he learned production under director Rob Schmidt.
Career
Lerebours directed a number of short films that have played at festivals such as Third Horizon Film Festival[1][2], Indie Memphis, Uppsala International Short Film Festival, London Short Film Festival[3], Out on Film and African Film Festival[4].
He was selected for Film at Lincoln Center's Artist Academy program in 2024[5].
Personal Life
Jard identifies as queer[6].
