LGGS J004246.86+413336.4, also called 2MASS J00424682+4133358, is a blue supergiant star located in the Andromeda Galaxy[1] approximately 2,500,000 light years away. It is exceptionally luminous with a luminosity of 10^7.3 L⊙, or nearly 20 million times brighter than the Sun. Surrounding the star is a prominent H II region and a dust cloud.[2]

Due to its distance from Earth, the star’s properties are not well-defined.
