Talk:Port of Shahid Rajaee explosion

Error in Reactions

The first sentence in Reactions has an error in spelling/grammar that makes it make no sense: ".... unloading and announcing cargo at the portread ed to normal conditions the United Arab Emirates...." Joeylawn (talk) 16:51, 30 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Probably a classic case of a mouse flying off the computer table. Borgenland (talk) 05:14, 1 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Fatalities

I seen a Twitter post saying 20 dead. Is this reliable? (Source) Bloxzge 025 (talk) 15:19, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Social Media sources are never reliable.
If you plan to edit something, please look for a secondary reliable source. KingRHM (talk) 23:37, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
What’s shown currently is different in lead and infobox from what is in the prose, and it’s unreferenced. Please fix, so that we can update what is on the main page. Schwede66 18:08, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Reverted to last cited number. Borgenland (talk) 18:52, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Move?

I suggest a move to "2025 Bandar Abbas port explosion"[1] or "2025 Bandar Abbas explosion"[2] or even "2025 Iran port explosion"[3][4], as the city of Bandar Abbas is much more commonly used than the port name itself. WFUM🔥🌪️ (talk) 16:55, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

LLM

Why does ChatGPT appear in several urls here? Should I be concerned on the reliability given the number of ANIs involving LLM? Borgenland (talk) 17:23, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Fire before explosion

The section "Explosion and immediate impact" currently says "The explosion produced a large fire" but does not indicate in any way that there was already a fire before the explosion occurred. AlreadyDone (talk) 18:02, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if some information is relevant

Here's the potentially irrelevant sentence.

"Before the meetings began, Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said that 'our security services are on high alert given past instances of attempted sabotage and assassination operations designed to provoke a legitimate response.'"

Given that Iran's Interior Minister claimed that the explosion was the result of negligence and not sabotage and that several independent analyses have found (albeit without a totally thorough investigation) that there was no evidence of sabotage, I don't see how a vague statement about sabotage made before and not in response to the explosion is relevant to the subject.
