Apparently the conductor of an elliptic curve over ℚ can be viewed as an integer
If this is correct (and the linked Elliptic Curve Data by John Cremona lists conductors as integera), then it would improve the readability of this article by a factor of one million if this were stated clearly.
And if some examples of this were included.
The urge to define every mathematical concept only in maximum generality is what makes mathematics articles in Wikipedia far, far worse than they need to be.
