The Women Are Persons! monuments, also known as the Famous Five monuments, are a pair of memorial sculptures in Ottawa, Ontario and Calgary, Alberta in Canada. The statues commemorate Emily Murphy, Nellie McClung, Louise McKinney, Henrietta Muir Edwards, and Irene Parlby, collectively known as The Famous Five. The statues were unveiled in Calgary on October 18, 1999,[1] and a year later in Ottawa on October 18, 2000.[2] The statues were sculpted by Barbara Paterson.
