Question from Tcisot (17:51, 8 March 2025)
Hi,
Well, I wanted to create a page about myself, as a published author (six books) because a friend asked why I didn't have a wiki page. But I see that it is not allowed? When you look at authors' pages, they have their books listed and history etc. Can I find someone to create it for me, and I can add to it with someone reviewing it?
-Tcisot (talk) 17:51, 8 March 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Tcisot, sorry for the delay: Wikipedia recommends you don't write about yourself, but it's not forbidden. I think getting someone else to write on your behalf might not be allowed. Have you heard about notability? Alextejthompson (Ping me or leave a message on my talk page) 14:42, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
- Okay. Thanks. I'm going to play around in the sandbox for now. Tcisot (talk) 20:40, 2 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Alex. I have been working on an article in my sandbox and wanted to know if you could take a look at it (how do you do that?) and suggest edits etc. Thanks. TCISOT Tcisot (talk) 23:42, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Tcisot, is your sandbox still here? I couldn't find it. Sorry for the delay! Alextejthompson (Ping me or leave a message on my talk page) 16:17, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
- I don't know why this doesn't show in my sandbox:

- its still in my drafts and im having troubles with citation and referencing, can you help? Toyosikehinde22 (talk) 14:09, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Toyosikehinde22, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I don't think the topic of the draft meets the general notability guideline, but if you can find any better sources then feel free to add them. Hope this helps, Alextejthompson (Ping me or leave a message on my talk page) 16:23, 5 May 2025 (UTC)

Question from Thouhoodied (19:49, 13 April 2025)
Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
When exploring Wikipedia in the past, I've noticed that sometimes I come across articles with very, very little information (stubs etc). This leads me to ask, when I create an article for the first time, how big does a newly made article have to be before it becomes acceptable to be published? Is it advised to cover as much as possible from the very beginning? or should I start small and allow others to build upon it more detailed over time. Thank you! --Thouhoodied (talk) 19:49, 13 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Thouhoodied, sorry for the delay: articles should generally go into detail about a topic and not be extremely short. Help:Your first article has some pointers on creating new articles. Hope this helps, Alextejthompson (Ping me or leave a message on my talk page) 16:00, 21 April 2025 (UTC)

Hello, Based on celestial and mythological narratives, I make inductions, scientific observations and experiments about the true shape of the universe from individual evidence. I depict the results I reach with graphic vectors. My aim is to share this information with the whole world through you. The information I reach may be the first, so I do not want my sharing to be blocked because I cannot show the source from the current curriculum. I do not fully understand the Wikipedia base and conditions. Please allocate a section for me on your page, I will share the information I reach there. It may be useful to some in the future. Question from Gscho002 (12:54, 26 April 2025)
hello - my father has asked me to help him post a wiki page about himself. this would be factual mostly. i think he qualifies as notable. he is a expert on international law, frequently asked to consult on cases that make public news, has practiced and taught at several law schools in the US and abroad over the past almost 50 years, and originated and is still lead author on the maritime and international law textbook used in many if not most US law schools, at least by my understanding.
i see it is discouraged to write about someone that you have a relationship with, obviously the case here. i have a brief text that i think is fairly neutral. how should i proceed?
thx in advance for the advice!
geoff --Gscho002 (talk) 12:54, 26 April 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Gscho002, is the text on this site? I can look at it for you. Alextejthompson (Ping me or leave a message on my talk page) 16:15, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
- hi - thx for responding. i did not get beyond the point where i saw the prohibition against writing about someone close to you, so i did not work out how to load things or even play in the sandbox.
- below is the plain text draft. i'd plan to link to places that he trained and could also add links to the books and cases maybe.... would this be inappropriate? i am his son, geoffrey schoenbaum, btw....
- J. SCHOENBAUM
- Thomas J. Schoenbaum (born August 15, 1939) is an American lawyer, acclaimed law professor, and prize-winning author of academic and non-fiction trade books. He received his B.A. degree (summa cum laude) in 1961 from St. Joseph’s College (Ind.) and a master’s degree from the University of Louvain, Belgium in 1962. He earned a Juris Doctor degree in law from the University of Michigan (with distinction) in 1965. In 1965-66 he was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Munich in Germany. He completed a PhD in Law from the University of Cambridge, Gonville and Caius College, in 2000. Professor Schoenbaum is known as one of the world’s leading experts on maritime and admiralty law. He also has championed international law as the basis for international relations and the peaceful settlement of international disputes. He is the author of over 100 books and articles.
- He is the authorized biographer of Dean Rusk, who was US Secretary of State 1961-69. Professor Schoenbaum taught for over 50 years at universities both in the United States and abroad. It is estimated that over 10,000 students took his courses, including many eminent members of the legal profession. He is now professor of law at the University of Washington, Dean Rusk Professor Emeritus at the University of Georgia, and Research Professor at George Washington University. He is a life member of the American Law Institute, a body of 3000 elected persons who typify excellence of the legal profession.
- MARITIME LAW
- Schoenbaum is the author of the important treatise, Admiralty and Maritime Law, now in its seventh edition, which is generally regarded as the leading work on the subject, routinely cited by the Supreme Court of the United States in over 30 cases and by federal and state courts in over 3000 cases. Because his writings on maritime law are frequently quoted and relied upon by the courts in deciding important cases, Schoenbaum has had an important impact on the development of maritime law. He is an active member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States.
- FULBRIGHT SCHOLARSHIPS
- Schoenbaum received six Fulbright scholarships, which permitted him to live and work in foreign countries and speak foreign languages. As a student Fulbrighter, he spent 1961-62 in Louvain, Belgium, where he completed a master’s degree in philosophy. In 1971-72 Schoenbaum offered courses at the University of Cologne as Fulbright lecturer. In 1975 he conducted research on environmental law as Fulbright scholar at the Institute of State and Law in Moscow in the Soviet Union. In 1978 he returned to Belgium as Fulbright lecturer at the University of Liege.
- In 1992, he lectured on constitutional law and human rights law at the University of the Western Cape as a Fulbright scholar in Cape Town, South Africa. In this stint he taught the courses normally given by Kadar Asmal, which enabled Mr. Asmal to spend full time negotiating the end of apartheid as one of the key members of the African National Congress party. Schoenbaum actively participated in the work of a new South African constitution by submitting memoranda on federalism and human rights at the request of Mr. Asmal. Schoenbaum’s sixth Fulbright in 2001, enabled him to serve as distinguished professor of international law at the University of Innsbruck, Austria.
- ACADEMIC CAREER
- Dr. Schoenbaum was a university teacher full-time for 50 years, from August 1968 until May 2018.
- 1. University of North Carolina (UNC). His first academic appointment was as Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he taught from 1968-1979. He rose quickly through the ranks, becoming Associate Professor in 1971 and full professor in 1975. During this time Schoenbaum also taught law courses at Duke Law School and North Carolina State Law School.
- At UNC Schoenbaum convinced the faculty to institute a course on Environmental Law, a topic just coming into its own. Working with the state government, Schoenbaum drafted an environmental amendment to the State Constitution, which was approved in a state referendum in 1971. Schoenbaum also served as chair of the drafting committee charged with producing a law to protect the unique features of the North Carolina coast. This law was enacted by the North Carolina General Assembly as the Coastal Area Management Act in 1973. Schoenbaum was named to serve on the North Carolina Marine Science Council 1972-1979. He published a socio-environmental study of the coast: Islands, Capes, and Sounds: The North Carolina Coast (Blair, 1979).
- On behalf of the State of North Carolina Schoenbaum also conducted litigation to preserve the New River valley in western North Carolina. For his efforts the Raleigh News named Schoenbaum “Tarheel of the Week” for October 24, 1976.
- 2. Tulane University, New Orleans. From 1979 to 1983, Schoenbaum taught full-time at Tulane University Law School. In addition to giving courses, he was named Associate Dean for Graduate Programs. In this capacity he solicited the foundation grant necessary to establish the Tulane Maritime Law Centerand a one-year master’s program in maritime law. The Tulane Maritime Law Center still functions as the preeminent program in this field of law.
- 3. University of Georgia. From 1983 to 2002, Schoenbaum served as the Dean and Virginia Rusk Professor of Law at the University of Georgia and Executive Director of the Dean Rusk Center for International and Comparative Law. Among Schoenbaum’s activities during these years was to organize the preservation of Dean Rusk’s private papers and the legacy of his historical role. At Schoenbaum’s request Dean Rusk submitted to hundreds of hours of oral history, all of which may be found in the Richard Russel Library of the University of Georgia. Schoenbaum in 1988 published Dean Rusk’s biography, titled, Waging Peace and War: Dean Rusk in the Truman, Kennedy, and Johnson Years (Simon and Schuster, 1988). This book was widely and favorably reviewed. A public television documentary, inspired by this book was aired in 2014. The producer wrote to Schoenbaum: “You did an extraordinary job of telling Dean Rusk’s story.” The dominant theme of Schoenbaum’s work at the Rusk Center was research on the law of international trade. In 2003, Oxford University Press published his work, The World Trade Organization: Law, Process, and Policy (with Mitsuo Matsushita and Petros Mavroidis). This book won the medal offered by the American Society of International Law as the best book on international law in 2003.
- 4. International Christian University (ICU), Tokyo, Japan. From 2002 to 2010, Schoenbaum lived and worked in Japan as professor at an esteemed private university. At ICU he had the opportunity to teach not only law courses but also courses in international relations as well as courses in history and literature, notably Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy.
- 5. Universita degli Studi di Milano Statale. From 2010 to 2012 Schoenbaum taught as visiting professor in Milan, Italy, at the Universita Statale, the principal public university. He was responsible for teaching courses in International Economic Law.
- 6. University of Washington, Seattle. From 2013 to 2018, Schoenbaum was professor at the law school of the University of Washington, where he taught courses on international environmental law, banking law, and international trade law. During these years he published two major books, International Environmental Law (with Michael Young) and The Law and Legal System of the United States, now in its third edition.
- CAREER AS LAWYER
- Professor Schoenbaum is licensed to practice law in Illinois, North Carolina, Louisiana and Georgia. He is a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.
- 1. Jenner and Block. Professor Schoenbaum joined the Chicago law firm of Jenner and Block in 1966, where he worked directly with the eponymous partners, Bert Jenner (1907-1988) and Sam Block (1911-1970) on important business litigation. He left the firm in 1968 to accept a teaching job at the University of North Carolina.
- 2. From 1972 to 1979, Schoenbaum served as special counsel to the firm Smith, Patterson, James, and Harkavy in Greensboro, NC. His practice included important environmental law cases, including the New River litigation, North Carolina v. Federal Power Commission, 533 F.2d 702 (D.C.Cir. 1976), vacated, 97 S.Ct. 250 (1976). Schoenbaum published a book, The New River Controversy (Blair 1979) detailing the story of this litigation.
- 3. From 1985 to 1989 Schoenbaum was special counsel for maritime law at the New Orleans law firm of Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent & Denegre.
- 4. From 1989 to 2001, Schoenbaum was special counsel to the Washington DC firm of Dow, Lohnes, and Albertson, handling such clients as Ann Cox Chambers and Calvin Klein.
- 5. Independent maritime law practice. Schoenbaum represented the State of Alaska in the wake of the Exxon Valdez oil spill in 1989; and he represented Japanese investors during the Deepwater Horizon incident in 2010. On three occasions Schoenbaum has served as contract lawyer to the U.S. Department of Justice in maritime cases. He presently conducts an active maritime law practice. Hi, I'm really new to Wikipedia, (last time I've made edits was at least three years ago on another account and I've forgotten literally everything).
I've seen a few pages written about subjects I'm an expert in containing minor factual errors or incorrect implications/phrasing. Since those types of edits are pretty major (for my non-existant skill level), would any changes to an articles' information be revoked if I were to try to make any. --Agentluushi (talk) 01:50, 28 April 2025 (UTC)

Question from Abdurrahman Toraman (17:28, 1 May 2025)
Hello, friends who believe in a global world.. Have you ever thought that this global world model imposed on us since our childhood could be a fictional narrative, independent of reality, or even a tale as misleading as a movie screen?
"Maybe we don't have the opportunity to think about this." Because our ability to think has been systematically taken away from us.
These modern lies marketed under the guise of science have transformed the new generation into individuals who do not question, who only obey, and have robotized them even more.
The mechanism you call "science" continues on its way by denying today what it said was true yesterday.
History is a lie, religion is distorted, and medicine is completely a slave to the industry.
At the center of these lies is a wizard who has been declared immune: NASA A media company that lies to you, as if It offers you digital animations, not real images; And instead of watching the sky, you have become addicted to the screen.
"He plays with the strings of the entire world beyond the veil and even has authority over states. You may not know his name, but it is a dark power deep within your power. And this power is not only the world you live in, but also ruthlessly designs your perception of reality."
--The world they present to us is not the truth itself; it is a virtual universe they have created in their own twisted minds and simulated with advanced technologies. Limitless with mathematical formulas, dazzling animations and the magical atmosphere of Hollywood! And you, in this giant illusion, are made to believe that you are standing on a blue marble, the return of helplessness.
"But now the chains are breaking, the minds are waking up! Those who face the reality of the flat world realize with separation that they are living in that blue marble tale. Only after this shock do the eyes open and those rotten lies that have been built upon for years begin to collapse one by one. And the brain - if it has not been affected by this systematic destruction - starts working again. It sees that everything comes together: Education, media, religion, politics, space... They are all parts of the same dark wheels.
And if you do not question, this wheel will continue to turn mercilessly."
"If you still have the organ that was granted to you or that is miraculous, your brain, it is time to use it! Ask! Do research! Observe with your own eyes! Think! Because it has not been banned yet... Abdurrahman Toraman April 18, 2018

But these two are linking to the same mother article, i felt like these two links are not providing any value, do you think i can suggest to remove those links ? --TafhimKarim (talk) 05:05, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
