Doesn't appear to meet notability guidelines. Even the provided sources, which are poor, and lack depth as well as independence, do very little to assert the subject's importance. C679 11:27, 8 May 2025 (UTC)

- Keep – Erich Kuhnke is featured in a U.S. Soccer Federation article that outlines his career in soccer, providing significant, non-trivial coverage from an authoritative source. While he did not play for the national team, the article highlights his role in the sport and his influence, particularly as the father of a national team player. The article has already passed the new pages patrol, with reviewer North8000 commenting, "Nice work." Given the existing reliable coverage and editorial approval, this article meets WP:GNG, and I recommend improving it rather than deleting. (talk) 20:34, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- Comment: Unfortunately, "Passing" NPP is immaterial to AFD discussions, it's just the opinion of one user, just as the AFD discussion contains the opinions of numerous users. The US Soccer Federation is a clear WP:PRIMARY source, which can be fine to use for various purposes but never for establishing notability. To also comment on the content of the source, being a "the father of a national team player" is extremely rarely a form of influence. Geschichte (talk) 08:04, 9 May 2025 (UTC)
- Reply – Thank you, Geschichte, for your thoughtful contribution to this AfD discussion. I agree that passing New Pages Patrol (NPP) is not definitive in AfD proceedings, as it reflects a single editor’s perspective (WP:NPP). However, it suggests the article’s initial quality and sourcing merit further development rather than deletion. The policy states, “If editing can improve the page, this should be done rather than deleting the page” (WP:ATD). It prioritizes fixing issues, such as adding sources or refining content, when a topic is verifiable and has a reasonable chance of meeting notability criteria. Advocating for keeping the article and focusing on improvement is fully consistent with (WP:ATD), which encourages editors to consider options like improving, merging, or redirecting articles before deletion, especially when the subject shows strong potential for meeting notability standards. - Delete – Fails in WP:GNG. Svartner (talk) 13:48, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
- Delete - no evidence of notability. If sources are found which show significant coverage please ping me. GiantSnowman 18:08, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
