Declined prod. All the sources are results listings. These additional sources [1], [2], [3] are all small 1 line results mentions. Lacking SIGCOV to meet WP:SPORTSCRIT. Those wanting to keep must show evidence of actual indepth third party sources. LibStar (talk) 23:52, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. The Congo government gazette article is more than a one-line result, so the nominator's statement "are all small 1 line results mentions" isn't correct, though I of course grant that more secondary analysis is needed. More importantly, subject was a high-level Olympic athlete for the Congo who we have a detailed record of over several years and who was their national record-holder for decades. Of course the subject would have been covered in-depth in ROC newspapers, but the issue is that all of those listed, without exception, have not published their 1980s daily archives online. Per WP:NEXIST, the notability of articles is determined by the existence of sources, not their presence in the article.
For context, this nomination is part of a series of 100+ recent AfDs and PRODs where almost none of them have actually resulted in deletion because mass-deletion tends to be highly controversial. --Habst (talk) 01:36, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
notability of articles is determined by the existence of sources so please show these indepth third party sources. I will happily withdraw this AfD is you can show indepth third party sources. LibStar (talk) 02:29, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've tried to search ROC newspapers before listed here, and all of them (even the ones established earlier) do not publish their daily archives from the 1980s when the subject was active. --Habst (talk) 02:44, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
