The result of the debate was Nomination withdrawn I'm going to withdraw the nomination based on JayHenry's suggestion that it be given a chance. If I am wrong and this turns into a useful group, then everyone benefits. If not, I'll consider renominating in the future. — Scientizzle 23:55, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
This "wikiproject", the Creamy Army WikiProject, is a "collaborative effort to improve Wikipedia's articles and create comradery amongst users whose username includes the word 'creamy' in it" with a requirement that one must have a username that includes the word "creamy". The creator, Creamy3 (talk · contribs), insists that the page isn't a joke, has spammed several talk pages ("recruiting", as it were) and is enlisting others to do the same.
Considering that everyone who seems to have joined this endeavor hails from Oakland, Oregon, that the group is designed to be exclusive (with username requirements), that "Army" and the implication that this army may perform some sort of coup to "take over" the encyclopedia is combative and divisive, and that there's little real indication of a focus on encyclopedia-building, I propose that this be deleted for violating a fair chunk of WP:NOT. — Scientizzle 23:29, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Also, Category:Creamy Army WikiProject members is worth deleting, too. — Scientizzle 23:32, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Both of these pages are only subpages to my userpage. There's no need for you to delete them, they're only extensions of my userpage. Don't you see? Please don't mess with my personal pages and I won't mess with yours. Creamy3 (talk) 23:44, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- They are only subpages of his user page. No harm. Hazillow (talk) 23:55, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- First, the category is certainly not a user subpage (though that's really a matter for CfD if it's necessary to treat it separately). Second, I see no benefit to the page and outlined specific reasons why it should be deleted, particularly that Wikipedia is not a social networking site. — Scientizzle 00:07, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think if they do something constructive like article collaboration, then it's alright. bibliomaniac15 00:13, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Scientizzle seems to have a big problem with me. That's fine Scientizzle, but don't delete my user subpage, which it certainly is, there's no need. Once we get enough members, we're going to start on article collaboration, and help our users out with Wikipedia policies and how to write an article. Creamy3 (talk) 00:38, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- This appears to be simply a humorous subpage. Humorous pages in userspace are allowed, such as the Bathrobe Cabal. It's fairly obvious here that they are not actually organizing any sort of army. Creamy3 is an active contributor who has made good main space edits. If he's able to get real life friends from Oakland, Oregon to contribute to an article collaboration, well, that's a very good thing and if not there was no harm in letting him try. Let's give this a chance, shall we? --JayHenry (talk) 07:10, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, but I agree that there's no need for the category. Membership lists like this are better maintained on the page for said group. --JayHenry (talk) 07:13, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Would this fall under the same category as Rouge admin? In this case, only the canvassing is objectionable. --Blanchardb-Me•MyEars•MyMouth-timed 21:49, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Delete rival of User:AndonicO/Tzatziki Squad :-) actually, strong keep, it's helping the 'pedia, very similar to the TSquad--Phoenix-wiki 23:22, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
You can't have seriously looked if you think this has precipitated anything that "help[ed] the 'pedia". So far, the participants have merely vandalized articles, continued spamming, made puerile comments, hurled an array of personal attacks[1][2][3][4][5], and have been otherwise disruptive. Hardly similar to the TSquad. — Scientizzle 23:55, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Keep, as per [[WP:CREAMY]], "anything that contains even a minuscule amount of creaminess is good and thus should be kept". Cremepuff222 (talk) 23:37, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- keep, It's in userspace, It's like one of those cabals, except they don't want to take over anything right now.Antonio Lopez (talk) 23:49, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
