62.212.72.240 is an open proxy [1] and reverts [2] in support of I am Agent X roughly 20minutes after I am Agent X is reverted by DBigXray[3]

I am Agent X after just four minor edits appears on Choudhry Rahmat Ali to revert in support of TG.[4] just seven minutes after [5] TG is reverted by DBigXray

I am Agent X adds a BBC poll to Muhammad Ali Jinnah[6] which was removed [7] and then promtly restored by TG [8] The poll is again removed and restored again by I am Agent X [9] It is again removed and restored by TG[10] I am Agent X removes mention of Jinnah drinking alchol , as does TG[11] TG is reverted and I am Agent X again reverts in support[12] I am Agent X supporting TG on a talk page discussion [13]

Overlap [14] shows how quickly I am Agent X arrives in support of TG.

Of his five edits on Muhammad Ali Jinnah I am Agent X has two reverts in support of TG One is adding the BBC poll mentioned above, which TG has reverted back in in favour of I am Agent X. I am Agent X has but one edit to Choudhry Rahmat Ali which was his fifth ever edit and he arrived out of nowere to revert to TG's favoured version. For a person with an interest in this article it is strange indeed he has not returned to edit it. Between 10 April 2012‎ and 14 April 2012‎ he did not login, when he did his only edit was to revert in favour of TG again. He did not login again for a further two days, and again his only edit was a revert in favour of TG. These diffs are presented above.

In short I am of the opinion that TG, who is well known for edit warring, created a sock account when he began to find it difficult to continue to revert to his favoured version of any article due to the 1RR restriction he is on.

Is it possible to find if I am Agent X registered via the proxy 62.212.72.240? This IP's only edits in the topic area were that one revert in favour of TG & I am Agent X

I am currently under an IBAN with TG, however as I believe that X is his sock and he has used this sock to revert and interact with me means my making this report is not an IBAN violation as I believe he is in fact violating the ban using a sock.   • This is ridiculous. Feel free to run a check user or what ever if there's evidence at all. The IP's not even on my continent... if that actually is a proxy, I don't think there's anyway to tell it apart from a straw-man sock. The contributions that match with the user are such petty reverts that I can safely say that it is either a straw-man sock by the accuser who is infact violating the IBAN by making this report based on nothing but some newbie who reverted to my version and followed me to a second article or an actual newbie who decided to follow an editor who was editing in the same topic area as their first edits, and they do (and I didn't find it irritating enough to warn them off). I will ask any check user that, if they do run a check on me and it turns out that this was a false report, they block Darkness Shines for WP:BOOMERANG as well as the IBAN vio of making a baseless report (as I'm not this user and I doubt the evidence presented is even enough to get a check user endorsed). Please note that I have presented a huge list of hounding hard evidence (diffs with full context) that led me to ask for this IBAN on the proposer's talk page. I find this report to be a continued act of hounding and now suspect that (if the user is a sock), it has been created for the purpose of this report to get me blocked. --lTopGunl (talk) 16:22, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • None of the two articles with overlap (and as the report says two petty instances of revert in my favour?) are the ones where I've had a content dispute anytime before. If at all I was to use a sock, why wouldn't I use it in the content disputes... this report lacks common sense. As Salvio said on an IBAN vio report I made once before, DS is begging to get blocked with such IBAN violations. --lTopGunl (talk) 16:40, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Another funny thing to note, if I was the same person as "I am Agent X" we wouldn't be able to edit at nearly the exact same time [15] [16], [17] [18], and esp. this [19] [20] editing on completely unrelated things probably causing edit conflicts had they been on the same page unless I can be at two places at the same time or logout and login really fast while typing a comment in a dispute as complex as this which would obviously have me spend the previous more than few minutes reading the TLDR comments on that talk page. I should look for more of these... note that this user's edit timings have also matched with DS's, mine on other hand are spread over all time zones (yes sounds a bit wikiholic since I some times edit continuously over 24 hrs). --lTopGunl (talk) 16:57, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Report of IBAN vio made on this page
  • In addition, I'll point out that the statement In short I am of the opinion that TG, who is well known for edit warring, created a sock account when he began to find it difficult to continue to revert to his favoured version of any article due to the 1RR restriction he is on is an IBAN violation regardless of other decisions as it is an unrelated blatant accusation which would have been vigorously rebutted with diffs if I didn't respect the ban. To keep things in one place, consider this a report at this location as the discussion is referring to this report and the vio was made here too. Some preliminary information: I have hardblocked the IP for three years for reasons unrelated to this SPI (proxy-related, so this is going to be useless for a CU). Suspected sockpuppets


This is a clear case of meatpuppetry. CU results will not show anything as they are three distinct users. I recently came across a WP:AN thread about the block of JackTheVicar. Mike V used some tools to prove they are socks.

  • Compare the number with other cases.

  1. OccultZone and AmritasyaPutra were 95 times together

Suspected sockpuppets


  • TopGun and SheriffIsInTown, both identify as Pakistani Punjabis (TopGun has a userbox that he can speak Punjabi).
  • SheriffIsInTown's maximum edits are mobile edits. Mobile edits are being made to avoid check user. He logs in from his laptop as TopGun, then logs in from his Mobile as SheriffIsInTown.
  • Sheriff had no interaction with CosmicEmperor and KnighWarrior25. His SPI against Bazaan, CosmicEmperor and KnightWarrior--who had very low edits, shows Sheriff interacted with KnightWarrior and Bazaan with a different undeclared account.
  • Both identifies as engineers through userboxes.
  • Both have knowledge about Softwares according to their userboxes
  • Though their usernames are different, there is a link. Every SheriffIsInTown carries a TopGun


Sheriff started to edit extensively during September 2015, after TopGun's topic ban.

Had this been an established user, I would have welcomed a CU to check me out but this IP is a blatant sock (ironically). RickinBaltimore reverted him per WP:DENY but the IP seems to be edit warring on the spi. I'm an established user and pointing a finger at me in a general direction without any evidence and connecting me to another established user is ridiculous. This constitutes not even a remote connection between me and the other accused editor any more than all other editors editing articles related to Pakistan being me as well - whether I was inactive or not. Unlike the claims, when I am not active on Wikipedia, I have a busy real life. It appears an attempt at harrasment by now blocked sock, KnightWarrior25. I don't deem it to be fit to even reply to any of the accusations. If an admin or RickinBaltimore is to revert instead of archving this nonsense SPI, I won't mind my comment being reverted along with the blanking. If a CU does decide to check me out, please do take some time to block the IP for the disruption after the results come negative. --lTopGunl (talk) 15:15, 12 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't close this. TopGun wanted to be an administrator. TopGun is very similar to the blocked editor Top Gun. In optional RFA TopGun's huge block log, became a problem. Whever TopGun was active in India-Pakistan conflict., Sheriff remained away. When Sheriff becomes active, TopGun stays away. He switches device.
