Witjaksana Soegarda
Witjaksana Soegarda (1939 – 25 May 2010) was an Indonesian diplomat.

Early life
Soegarda was born in 1939 as the ninth of twelve children of Soegarda Poerbakawatja.[1][2]
Career
Soegarda started his career by working as a diplomat at the Indonesian Embassy in New York.[2] He served as Indonesian Ambassador to Denmark and served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Italy, Malta and Albania from 1995 until 1998.[1] On 9 July 1997, Soegarda was appointed as ASEAN Secretariat General Director.[3]
Personal life
In 1981, Soegarda started a relationship with Soraya Alatas, the daughter of diplomat Ali Alatas.[2] They later married at the Indonesia Embassy in New York on 13 September 1986 and had five children.[2][1] Their marriage lasted until Soegarda's death in May 2010.[1]
Soegarda died at Harapan Kita Hospital in Kota Bambu Utara ward, Palmerah, on 25 May 2010 due to a lung disease at the age of 71.[1] He was buried at Jeruk Purut Cemetery on 26 May.[1]
